Summer Design Solution Labs will meet weekly from June 15th - July 11th.
Pathfinders (ages 4-6): Tuesdays: 9:00 - 10:00
Builders (ages 7-10): Mondays 9:00 - 10:30
Innovators (ages 11-15): Wednesdays 9:00 - 10:30
Design Solutions Lab is a project-based learning engineering course where students explore real-world challenges through hands-on design, building, testing, and problem-solving.
At Ark Robotics, we believe students learn best by doing. Through engaging projects and creative engineering challenges, students develop critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and innovation skills while building confidence in their ability to solve problems.
Rather than simply learning about engineering concepts, students experience them firsthand through meaningful projects that encourage curiosity, creativity, and perseverance.
Using a project-based learning approach, students work through the Engineering Design Process:
Design – Identify problems, brainstorm solutions, and create plans.
Build – Construct prototypes and bring ideas to life using real tools and materials.
Test – Evaluate designs and discover what works best.
Improve – Refine solutions through iteration and continuous improvement.
Our project-based learning model helps students:
Develop creativity and innovation
Strengthen critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Build confidence through hands-on success
Practice teamwork and communication
Learn perseverance through trial and improvement
Apply STEM concepts in meaningful real-world situations
What makes this class different from a traditional STEM class?
Design Solutions Lab uses a project-based learning approach that places students in the role of engineers and inventors. Instead of simply following directions, students solve authentic challenges, create prototypes, test ideas, and improve their designs through hands-on exploration.
